Lee Lyon, a dear friend and spirit brother
Lee and Jim became swami brothers 40 years ago and his expansive heart and profound generosity has enriched our lives in a myriad ways. He even sang at our wedding. Lee’s new book, Divine Wisdom, is an offering of the Vijnana Bhaivara Tantra, a classic text of the nondual school of Kashmir Shavism. A lifetime of study and practice with this sacred text has informed Lee’s translataion and commentary of these pithy pointers to the Divine which is always expressing itself.
Joel Morwood, a hidden treasure in Oregon
In the words of John O’Donahue, “Take time to see the quiet miracles that seek no attention”. Joel Morwood and his organization, The Center for Sacred Sciences, is one of these quiet miracles. Joel is one of our greatest contemporary luminaries who offers an exquisite synthesis of the mystical teachings from a deeply integrated and experiential perspective. We moved across the country to live near this quiet national treasure!
Michael Singer, embodying powerful surrender
Twenty years ago, the winds of grace landed us in northern Florida. During this year we lived within minutes of Michael’s Temple of the Universe. Attending programs 3-4 times each week was an incredible immersion in the teachings of surrender and trust of the Shakti. Michael is simply a master of being in service to the unpredictable and dynamic currents of Spirit. We are forever grateful to have sat in his circle.
Donna the Buffalo, the soundtrack of our life
We discovered Donna the Buffalo on an indie radio station when we first visited Kauai. Immediately, we became part of the herd, devoted fans of this upstate NY band. Jeb and Tara compose lyrics straight from the muse of the mystics and their music grooves our soul all day and night. To us, these extraordinary artists are prophets and mistrals. Check them out!
Carol Krucoff, a wellness pioneer
Sometimes the stars align and one finds a soul sister, colleague and professional visionary all rolled into one. Carol was the founding editor of the Health Section of the Washington Post and has collaborated with the Carsons since 2005. Her dedication to inclusion and deep respect for the resiliancy as well as vulnarabilities of the body guided her trailblazing in Integrative Medicine and yoga therapy. It is a blessing to walk the pathless path together.
